Welcome to the website of the Newspaper and Periodical History Forum of Ireland (NPHFI).
The NPHFI exists to facilitate contacts between researchers and writers in the field of newspaper and periodical history, and to strengthen institutional links between third level teaching and research institutions, libraries and other organizations concerned with newspaper, periodical and printing history. The forum organizes conferences, colloquia and witness seminars, and will publish collaborative works.
‘Writing the Press into History’
The NPHFI’s fourth annual conference will be held at the National Library in Dublin on November 18-19. The theme is “Writing the Press into History”. The keynote speaker will be Professor Chris Morash, of the NUI, Maynooth, and he will speak on the subject of “Thinking Spatially About Newspaper History”.
